The Artist Behind Tzayer Studio
Asaf Gabay | Artist & Sculptor
Asaf Gabay is an Israeli-American sculptor and ceramicist crafting original kiln-fired clay and porcelain bas-relief artworks under his studio brand, Tzayer. Splitting his time between the United States and Israel, Asaf integrates rich cultural perspectives, ancient symbolic motifs, astrological themes, and cosmic iconography into deeply tactile relief sculptures.
Operating under a strict creative philosophy—The Art of the Unrepeatable—every piece produced in the studio is a unique, handcrafted original. No molds are ever used, and no design is ever duplicated. When a work leaves the kiln, it remains the only one of its kind in existence.

Form & Ambient Light
Designed specifically to interact with room environment, these reliefs change throughout the day. As natural and artificial light shifts across the dimensional surfaces, subtle carved details and rich patinas continuously reveal new shadows, highlights, and visual depth.
The Studio
Operating under the studio brand TZAYER, every piece begins as unformed earth. Working step-by-step through detailed relief carving, structural drying, and high-temperature firings, each sculpture is crafted directly by hand—never cast from a mold, and never duplicated. The surfaces are then finished using custom oil paints, acrylics, and metallic pigments, ensuring that every artwork remains a true, one-of-a-kind original with its own distinct weight, character, and tactile presence.
